The youth section of ADN, (ADNJ) opened its first multimedia Flash-designed naturist Website on May the 15th , which coincidently was Saint Isidro Day, (The Day of the Patron Saint of Madrid) and a holiday.

    The idea of constructing a Web page for the ADNJ came up during our first naturist youth meeting. We had realized that there was hardly any info concerning young naturists on Internet. We thought that it was a good idea to let ourselves be known and also to encourage other hesitant young people about becoming naturists. All those present at that meeting agreed on how we would like that page to be and on the image we would like to portray. As webmaster, I took down all those many ideas, and after the ADN board approved our proposal, the Web page was put on the Internet and the outcome is there for everybody to see.

    Our Web page was born with the goal of getting the youth living in the Madrid Community area together, and also all round Spain, in order to be in good company in the nude. We thought it was an open and modern, different and amusing way of letting ourselves be known by other young people who may share our love for naturism. It is also a mixture of virtual contact on the Internet and real contact afterwards at the best natural spots to go naturist in the Madrid Community area, which is often a frantic and impersonal place to live in. Most of us got to know of the existence of a group of young naturists as we became members of ADN, and the idea of setting up a section just popped up as an answer to our longings..

    We would like our page to show clear information to our visiting guests. We have stressed that in our design, as well as to convey the following main points, which are also a priority for ADN: the naturist lifestyle, the law, our open and transparent way of seeing naturism, how to become a member, our services, and so forth.

    We, the ADN youth, believe that in our age bracket, we usually move in two ways: towards ourselves and towards the others. Because we are somehow immature, we are also insecure and being naturists this feeling may increase, especially going naturist for the first time. There is a struggle between what is taught in the family and our leanings toward the naturist experience. We designed our Web page with this in mind, to help these young people who wish to take their first step. ‘Experiencias Naturistas’ is the section specifically aimed at them, and in which several members of ADNJ tell us their first experiences and feelings.

    As we went through the e-mails we have been receiving these last months, we began to realize that we are being of great help to and a jumping board for many young people who wish to live in harmony with nature by being together in the nude within an atmosphere of respect for both themselves and the others.

    Members, friends and people in general who love naturism have enthusiastically welcomed the new Web page. They have praised the design and the multimedia section, above all. They think it is original because of the games, multimedia presentations of our meetings and naturist virtual postcards. This is the first association of this nature which has done that on the Web. We have got mail from both ADN members and other naturist associations congratulating us on the good work we are doing to promote naturism among the youth. The Web page is constantly being updated with new changes which will hopefully keep alive the interest of all who approach us.

    Once we promoted the Web page and made ourselves known, at about the beginning of Summer, the amount of mail from people showing interest in us and in our activities increased and, simultaneously, the number of young members has also been going up steadily since then.

    Initially, most visitors only search for information, but once they get to know us they end up joining. Although our association is in Madrid, the global reach of Internet allows us to reach people from different places in Spain and other Spanish speaking countries. This way, we make friends all over and with whom we have a great time at the numerous naturist meetings in different parts of Spain. There isn’t any selection filter whatsoever, apart from the age bracket. We provide the ideal naturist context and the magic feeling comes from the people who join us.

    We also keep in touch with the youth sections of other naturist associations in Europe. A case in point is the British YBN with which we maintain an open line and exchange ideas. Moreover, there is the possibility of our organizing the coming meeting of the International Youth here in Spain.

    Since the last 15 of May, which is the day we opened it, the Website has had over 10,000 pages visited and people from more than 30 countries have showed interest in our association. Most of these people were from Spain, the United States, Argentina and Mexico in that order.

    As far as the technology we used to make our Website is concerned, I undertook all the decisions myself, like using Flash which was an innovative recent tool. We had expressed the need to do something original and different at the youth meeting, hence my decision to use Flash as I thought it was a dynamic and attractive product. Furthermore, Flash, as a designing tool, is very popular nowadays because of its potential for multimedia design. However, ours is the first and only naturist Web page on the net made in this format.

    All ADNJ members who have participated in the development of this project, are very satisfied with the job done and what we are achieving, as our expectations have been greatly fulfilled.
We hope that this is just the first step along a path of growth to make the Spanish youth share with us our love for naturism.
