The FEN President, Ismael Rodrigo, attended this first historical meeting together with some other representatives of the Spanish tourist organisations for naturists.

Raimón Martínez Fraile became aware of the fact that he did not have enough information about naturist tourism in Spain. This makes over 20 million European tourists who spend their holidays in nudist resorts choose other destinations away from Spain. The abundant information they have received in their countries from their tourist authorities, as the case is in Croatia or France, leads them somewhere else.

At this first meeting we talked about the 51 year history of the International Naturist Federation, (INF), thanks to the presence of its representative for Latin America, who had just come back from a very fructiferous tour of Chile, Argentina and Uruguay.

Although this first meeting was only to get to know each other’s positions, there were several proposals, which will be discussed in a more specific way in the near future
One of them is the insertion of a link between Turespaña and the Federation, (www.naturismo.org), to carry out a CSI survey, the development of naturist information by Turespaña, to request the use of Turespaña’s logo, to also ask for support for our presence at International Fairs, to demand support for the International Naturist Cruise along the Spanish coast and so on.and so forth.

Martínez Fraile agreed to support International events such as the World Congress for Naturism in the year 2006 at Costa Natura, Málaga, which coincides with the FEN’s 25th birthday.

The Federation conveyed to the Ministry the fact that Naturist tourism is generally good quality, family oriented, and environmental friendly. We also mentioned that Naturist tourism will become a natural development of the traditional just sun-and-beach tourism, on the same lines this Government is thinking as it tries to reorient its priorities.
